The Terminator

The Terminator

New 4K Restoration / 40th Anniversary

In the 21st century, a weapon will be invented like no other. It will have only one purpose: to return to the present and prevent the future.

Coral Gables Art Cinema will join independent theaters all over the country in celebrating the art house community and its commitment to preserving the power of cinematic storytelling on Art House Theater Day!  This screening includes a recorded Q&A between director James Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd! Is The Terminator an indie film? Hurd (The Walking Dead, Armageddon) said, “As the film’s producer, I can assure you it is. Jim Cameron and I made the film for $6.4 million, which included a completion bond and a 10% contingency. We had a variety of co-financiers, pre-sold rights and our distribution was through Orion Pictures rather than a major studio—the very definition of an indie film, both then and now. We hope you’ll enjoy the nostalgic experience of seeing it this summer!”

Join us before the film, starting at 8:00 PM, for a sampling of delicious pizza from P.Pole Pizza (279 Miracle Mile)—limited quantities available! At the concession stand, enjoy $1 Voodoo Ranger beer plus free popcorn for cinema members.
